You’re likely get to hear live music in the day lodge which only adds to the cozy ambiance while you’re having lunch, or putting your ski boots up during apres ski. It’s just one of the ways that the resort adds a local flavour to your skiing experience.

Bet you’ve never seen a dog sled team delivering mail before. Well you can in Quesnel, during the annual Gold Rush Trail Sled Dog Mail Run. Once a year. mushers and their fleet of huskies participate in the mail run, a fun event for the whole family, and a celebration of the history of the area.

When the sun shines at Troll Resort, it’s tough to beat. Local pro tip: Skies are typically clearer in the mornings which means getting out the door early to get in some sweet runs while you soak up a little Vitamin D.

Don’t pass up the deliciousness of the famed locally made cinnamon buns at Troll. A little dose of sugar will keep you going on all morning. But the soups and the burgers are excellent, too. We were blown away by the quality of the food that the small team in the kitchen puts out. Because you know, half the fun of skiing is re-fueling in the day lodge with your friends.

When You Go

Book your stay onsite at Troll through the AirBnB listing. But if you are looking to accommodate a bigger group, keep in mind Quesnel is only 40 mins down the road.

Quesnel is home to a bounty of Nordic ski, fat biking and snowshoe trails, uncovered in this recent Gold City story.

Troll Ski Resort is a happening place less then a two hours drive from Prince George Airport, home to increased WestJet service through this winter via WestJet link.
